This evening I ran 5 miles and my calves are still kind of sore.

Today I ran 6 miles on the same bike path that I've been running on the majority of the week.  There was a black bear in a tree I ran by so that was pretty exciting!! I haven't had as much time as I would have liked to run this week but I tried to run every day.  Hopefully I'm not way far behind when I get home!

This morning we met at Sugar House Park and this week is hill week.  We did a two mile warm up around the park and then did sets with three different hills.  The hardest hill for me was probably the state hill and we did it last so I was already pretty tired.  I cooled down with another two mile loop for 8.5 miles total for the morning.  Later in the evening, we met at Sunnyside Park and I ran 4 miles at the gully which brought me to 12.5 miles for the day.  Running again this evening made me less sore.

Today I ran 12 miles at Guardsman Pass trail.  This run was actually really nice after you got past all of the hills.  It was still difficult though because 12 miles is a long run especially with all of the hills.  We got there early enough so the temperature was great!  Later we met at Liberty Park and I ran around twice for 3 miles and 15 miles total for the day.

This morning I ran 6 miles on part of the Pipeline trail.  It wasn't the part of the trail that we usually run on but one with a lot of uphill and switch backs.  My calf was hurting most of the run but the run went by pretty fast anyway.  I'm not as sore as I thought I would be after yesterday's run.

We met at the JCC early this morning for the dreaded run.  It was definitely not easy but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  Getting up there before it got really hot made the run a lot better.  I ran a little past 3 miles, did the hills, and ran back which came to 9 miles.  Later, some of us met at Liberty Park.  I ran 5 miles trying to get under 8 minute miles each time around.

Today we met at Cottonwood Complex for the last day of hill week.  I ran a two mile warm up, did 10 strides, and then we did the hills on the region course.  Bessie was probably the hardest hill for me because it just kept going.  We added some more at the end to come to 8 miles.  Glad to say that hill/hell week is over!

We met at Liberty Park this morning and warmed up with a lap.  After that we did 10 strides and then a mile and two half miles for a speed workout.  My time for the mile was 7:11 and I still haven't quite figured out how to pace myself.  I feel like I probably could have gone faster.  I got 3:15 and 3:19 on my two half miles.  We cooled down with another lap and ended up with 8 miles.  Later, we ran from Sunnyside Park to the track on Foothill.  I ran a mile of speed changes at the track and then ran back to Sunnyside Park which brought me to 12.5 miles for the day.

This morning we went on the team hike and it was really fun! We also had the team bbq/ fun run tonight where we ran some of the state course to see who would be on varsity.  Before, I ran a warmup and did some strides.  I was pretty sore during this but I still tried my best!  The distance was only 2.5 miles and I got a little over 19 minutes finishing third for girls.  After, I ran a cool down.  Since the hike didn't count as mileage, I only ran 4 miles today.

This morning I ran 9 miles on the flagpole run.  I've been really sore lately so hopefully I'm not as sore by the race on Saturday!

Today we had our first race in Settlement Canyon.  I was pretty nervous about racing and didn't really know what to expect.  Next time, I'd like to get a longer warmup in and some strides before.  I need to push myself more towards the end of the race.  My time ended up being 22:05 and including warm up, the race, cool down, and running around cheering, I ran 8 miles.

Today I ran 8 miles at LIberty Park with the xc team.  We did two 1 miles and one 1/2 mile.  My mile times were 6:46 and 7:01 and my 1/2 mile time was 3:17 if I'm remembering correctly.

This morning we ran on the JCC trail.  I ran 3.75 miles out and back for 7.5 total.  We got up there early so the temperature was great!

We met at the track after school and then ran down to Liberty Park.  We did two 2 miles and I have no idea what my times were.  This workout was not fun and it was really hot outside.  I think the total mileage for the day was somewhere around 7 miles but I'm not positive.

After school we met at the track and then ran to Sugarhouse Park where some stayed to watch the Highland Invitational.  We did 10 hills and then 15 minutes of fireman and then ran back to the school.  I don't know how many miles total this was but I'm going to say 6.

Today we did the Shriner's run.  Flower, Stormy, and I went another mile past the second water fountain for 8 miles total.  I really liked this run!!!!

Today was our first morning practice and I think we ran about 4 miles.  We went up to foothill and then down back to the track and then did 8 hills.  After school, we warmed up and then did three 1 miles.  I can't remember my times but they were somewhere around 7 minutes.  I was feeling super tight during these.  The total for today was somewhere 10.5 miles.

After school we ran to Fairmont (where we did 10 strides) then to Liberty Park (where we ran a lap) and then back to the school.  This brought me to 8.5 miles.

We had another morning practice today where we ran to Sunnyside for a big loop and then back to the track.  We did 2 strides and then the 400 200 chase with a partner three times.  My partner was Tilda.  After school we did 6 circuits around the track and bleachers and then ran up by the zoo.  I was really sore during this.  I'm going to say the total for the total for the day was 7.5 but I could be wrong.

Today we had a meet in American Fork called the Grass Relays.  It had two 1 mile loops where we jumped over hay.  I got 15:05 in the Junior Senior race.  I did something to my knee in the very beginning of the race so it was really hurting.  It was really hard to pass people so next time I'd like to get ahead earlier in the race.  My legs were so tight after.  Overall, this race was pretty fun and it was nice only having to race 2 miles!  Everyone did really well!!!
