 Today we went to Lava Hot Springs and I ran 7 miles.  There were several hills and it was pretty hot but it was still a good run.  We went down the river a few times after.  It was enjoyable running somewhere new.

We ran 20 minutes out at the Jordan River Park.  I got about 4.3 miles in 38 minutes.  Then we did step-ups and leg lifts.  After that we did strides and a cool down.  The total was about 6 miles.

Today we met by the zoo to run on the shoreline trail.  I ran to the water fountain and back which added up to 5 miles.  I really liked this run, hopefully we will do it again!

I didn't wake up in time to meet with the xc team at Liberty Park so I ran 5 miles around my neighborhood instead.

I only needed four more miles to get my mileage so I ran from my house to the Brickyard.  It took me 33 minutes to run these four miles.  I went in the evening so the temperature was great as well.

Today I went on a nice 6 mile evening run with my brother biking next to me which definitely lightened the mood.  It wasn't too hot so I was feeling great!  Earlier, I biked 11.5 miles at Round Valley in Park City.  The trails I biked on seemed like they might be fun to run on as well!

Today the xc team met at Sugar House Park and then we went on the cemetery run.  The cemetery run was 6 miles long so me and a few others went around the park to get 2 more miles for 8 miles total.  The run was pretty good but my feet began to hurt a little.

Today we ran on the Pipeline Trail.  I love running at Pipeline because it isn't too hot and it's so beautiful!  I ran to the Rattlesnake Gulch sign and back which was about 7.5 miles.  We ran another half mile so that we could reach 8 miles total.  I felt a lot better today at Pipeline than I did two weeks ago when we ran it.

Today we met at Sunnyside Park and then we ran down to the track at East.  We warmed up with a grass lap and then did 8 x's on the field with the sprinklers on.  After that we did 10 hills and then cooled down with another 2 grass laps.  We ran back to Sunnyside for a total of 6 miles.

This morning I didn't go to xc practice but I ran 3 miles on my own instead.  It was so hot! In the evening, we met at Cottonwood Complex and ran the region course.  After that we ran to Iceberg for a total of around 4 miles.

Today we met at Liberty Park and did a lap for warmup.  We stretched, did some other exercises, and then 10 strides after.  I ran around the park one more time and then around the pond 3 times with Stormy so that we could get 5 miles total.  I look forward to not having to run tomorrow!

Stormy and I went for a 9 mile run this evening.  It was extremely hot so we had to walk a little bit.  We went on this path by the freeway and it was really fun!

Today I ran a 5k that consisted of about two 1.5 mile loops.  Stormy, Sam, and Dallen also ran this 5k.  I didn't warm up before the race (which was a large mistake) so I will definitely warm up first next time.

This morning I ran 4.5 miles on the zoo trail with Stormy and Patrick to finish off our weekly mileage.  The zoo trail is usually pretty fun to run on so it wasn't too bad.

Today, Stormy and I ran 8 miles around our neighborhoods and then by Sugar House park and around the 27th south area.  Running in the rain was very enjoyable.  Later in the evening I ran another 3 miles because I was feeling good and wanted to add more mileage.

This morning we ran at Sugar House Park.  We did a two mile warm up and then 10 hills, 4 state hills, and a two mile cool down.  I was getting really tired and hot by the end of the hills but I still tried my best.  The total was about 7.5 miles.  At night we met again at Sunnyside Park where I ran another 5.5 miles.

We met at Wheeler Farm this morning where we did a two and a half mile warm up, some strides, and then four 800s.  I was trying to get 3:30 for my 800s but near the end I was getting around 3:50.  Today was really the first speed workout we have done this summer so I was pretty tired afterward.  After that we ran until we had 7 miles total.  In the evening we met at Liberty Park where I did a lap for warm up and then a lap of fireman with the faster kids.  I was tired after but it was a good thing to do.  I cooled down with another lap for 4.5 miles at Liberty Park and 11.5 total for the day.

Ran 3.75 miles out and then back at the JCC with Olivia, Stormy, and Camille for 7.5 miles.  Later, a small group met at Cottonwood where we warmed up with 10 minutes, ran four hills, and then ran the region course.  12.5 miles total for the day.

Today was the Slurpee run.  We met at Sunnyside Park and then ran to 9 different 7/11s and had a Slurpee at each one.  Banana is definitely the best flavor.  I ran with Olivia and Stormy and we got about 8 miles total thanks to our 1/2 mile detour.  It was really fun!

This morning we met at Sugar House Park and then ran the cemetery run.  I ran one loop in the cemetery so that put me at 7 miles.  Later, we met at Tanner Park.  I ran to the drinking fountain and back which added 5 miles for 12 miles total.

We met at Wheeler Farm this morning and ran a two mile warm up.  After that we did strides and then Fartlek as a speed workout.  We had a minute off for every one and two minutes on and two minutes off for every three and four minutes on.  I cooled down with two miles.  In the evening, we met at the Jordan River Parkway and I ran five miles which put my total at 12.5 miles.

This morning we ran Pipeline.  I ran to the overlook and back and then added some at the end for 10 miles.  I wasn't feeling very well so it wasn't the best run.  Later, we met at Liberty Park where we ran by Trolley Square and then added more at the park.  The total for today was 14.5 miles.

We met at Fairmont Park this morning.  We warmed up, did some circuits, and then did the penny run.  I only got around three miles because I had to leave early.  Later we ran a loop by Bill's house which gave me 10 miles total for the day.

Today I ran in the Draper Days 5k.  I warmed up with two miles.  I didn't really know how to pace myself during the race because it was my first time racing but I think I did okay anyways.  Next time I race I'm going to try to push myself more at the end.  I believe my time was somewhere around 23 minutes which was fourth in my age division.  I was kind of sore during the race but my two mile cool down helped loosen me up.

Today, Stormy and I ran 6.5 miles on our modified version of the Shriner's run.  My legs are still kind of sore from the 5k yesterday and I'm not quite used to my new shoes.

Today I ran from Sugar House Park to the water fountain at Coach Mikes, and then to the water fountain by the flagpole and back.  The run was 7.5 miles.  I'm still not used to my new shoes so I was feeling a little bit off and my calves have been sore as well.  Later, I added another 4.5 miles and my legs were very sore especially my shins

Today I only ran three miles because of the Deseret News 10k tomorrow.  I ran two laps around Liberty Park and tried to loosen up my muscles.

Way too early this morning, we met at the post office and then ran about a mile to get to the start line of the Desert News 10k.  I had never ran a 10k before this, so I didn't really know what I was doing in terms of pacing myself.  I ended up finishing the race in around 48 minutes which I am satisfied with especially considering that my calves were really sore and I had been at Lagoon all day the day before.  The race wasn't nearly as bad as I had thought it would be- it was actually kind of fun! My legs were really hurting after the race.  Next time, I'd like to push myself a little bit harder on the downhills and easier portions of the race so that I can get ahead.  Sarah, Stormy, Camille, and I were one of the high school teams competing and we ended up getting third place for girl high school teams.  I tried to speed up at the end of the race and if I remember correctly, I passed one or two people right before the finish line.  Sarah, Stormy, and I cooled down by running around Liberty Park to get to 9 miles total for the day.

I only ran 5.5 miles tonight with Stormy.  My legs are still really sore so we took it pretty easy.  In our attempt to run to the Twilight Concert Series at Pioneer Park, we ended up also getting half a dozen free donuts from Banbury Cross!

This evening I ran 5.5 miles on a nice, paved bike trail.  We are at a higher elevation and it kind of seems a little more difficult to run than usual.  I got less than 50 miles this week but I've been pretty sore so it was nice to take it a little easier.

Today I had a little more time than yesterday so I ran 6 miles.  I ran from where I'm staying into town and back which totaled 6 miles.  I find myself getting thirsty much more frequently here.  There was a nice breeze so it wasn't bad at all!

Today I ran 6 miles on the same bike path that I've been running on the majority of the week.  There was a black bear in a tree I ran by so that was pretty exciting!! I haven't had as much time as I would have liked to run this week but I tried to run every day.  Hopefully I'm not way far behind when I get home!

This morning we met at Sugar House Park and this week is hill week.  We did a two mile warm up around the park and then did sets with three different hills.  The hardest hill for me was probably the state hill and we did it last so I was already pretty tired.  I cooled down with another two mile loop for 8.5 miles total for the morning.  Later in the evening, we met at Sunnyside Park and I ran 4 miles at the gully which brought me to 12.5 miles for the day.  Running again this evening made me less sore.

Today I ran 12 miles at Guardsman Pass trail.  This run was actually really nice after you got past all of the hills.  It was still difficult though because 12 miles is a long run especially with all of the hills.  We got there early enough so the temperature was great!  Later we met at Liberty Park and I ran around twice for 3 miles and 15 miles total for the day.

This morning I ran 6 miles on part of the Pipeline trail.  It wasn't the part of the trail that we usually run on but one with a lot of uphill and switch backs.  My calf was hurting most of the run but the run went by pretty fast anyway.  I'm not as sore as I thought I would be after yesterday's run.

We met at the JCC early this morning for the dreaded run.  It was definitely not easy but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  Getting up there before it got really hot made the run a lot better.  I ran a little past 3 miles, did the hills, and ran back which came to 9 miles.  Later, some of us met at Liberty Park.  I ran 5 miles trying to get under 8 minute miles each time around.

Today we met at Cottonwood Complex for the last day of hill week.  I ran a two mile warm up, did 10 strides, and then we did the hills on the region course.  Bessie was probably the hardest hill for me because it just kept going.  We added some more at the end to come to 8 miles.  Glad to say that hill/hell week is over!

We met at Liberty Park this morning and warmed up with a lap.  After that we did 10 strides and then a mile and two half miles for a speed workout.  My time for the mile was 7:11 and I still haven't quite figured out how to pace myself.  I feel like I probably could have gone faster.  I got 3:15 and 3:19 on my two half miles.  We cooled down with another lap and ended up with 8 miles.  Later, we ran from Sunnyside Park to the track on Foothill.  I ran a mile of speed changes at the track and then ran back to Sunnyside Park which brought me to 12.5 miles for the day.

This morning we went on the team hike and it was really fun! We also had the team bbq/ fun run tonight where we ran some of the state course to see who would be on varsity.  Before, I ran a warmup and did some strides.  I was pretty sore during this but I still tried my best!  The distance was only 2.5 miles and I got a little over 19 minutes finishing third for girls.  After, I ran a cool down.  Since the hike didn't count as mileage, I only ran 4 miles today.

Today we had our first race in Settlement Canyon.  I was pretty nervous about racing and didn't really know what to expect.  Next time, I'd like to get a longer warmup in and some strides before.  I need to push myself more towards the end of the race.  My time ended up being 22:05 and including warm up, the race, cool down, and running around cheering, I ran 8 miles.

Today I ran 8 miles at LIberty Park with the xc team.  We did two 1 miles and one 1/2 mile.  My mile times were 6:46 and 7:01 and my 1/2 mile time was 3:17 if I'm remembering correctly.

Today was our first morning practice and I think we ran about 4 miles.  We went up to foothill and then down back to the track and then did 8 hills.  After school, we warmed up and then did three 1 miles.  I can't remember my times but they were somewhere around 7 minutes.  I was feeling super tight during these.  The total for today was somewhere 10.5 miles.

We had another morning practice today where we ran to Sunnyside for a big loop and then back to the track.  We did 2 strides and then the 400 200 chase with a partner three times.  My partner was Tilda.  After school we did 6 circuits around the track and bleachers and then ran up by the zoo.  I was really sore during this.  I'm going to say the total for the total for the day was 7.5 but I could be wrong.

Today we had a meet in American Fork called the Grass Relays.  It had two 1 mile loops where we jumped over hay.  I got 15:05 in the Junior Senior race.  I did something to my knee in the very beginning of the race so it was really hurting.  It was really hard to pass people so next time I'd like to get ahead earlier in the race.  My legs were so tight after.  Overall, this race was pretty fun and it was nice only having to race 2 miles!  Everyone did really well!!!
